Arriving by car:From Christchurch - 424 kms / 5hrs 30mins through the austere, dramatic beauty of the Mackenzie Country, passing by turquoise Lake Tekapo, and Lake Pukaki where, on a clear day, you will have wonderful views of Aoraki (Mt Cook), NZ's highest mountain. From Dunedin - 276 kms / 3hrs 15mins following the Clutha River through the fruit growing regions of Roxburgh, Alexandra and Cromwell. From Haast - 145 kms / 1hr 40mins crossing the Haast Pass - arguably the most scenically beautiful of all the alpine passes, you will climb through wonderful alpine Beech forest until you enter Central Otago near dramatic Lake Hawea. Arriving by Air:Wanaka airport with daily Air NZ flights is only 8 mins drive away and we are happy to meet your flight. Queenstown International airport is approx 50 mins away with a regular shuttle service provided by Wanaka Connexions. We can pick you up from the town centre if you arrive by other means. |
